With over 170 years of experience manufacturing animal feeds, Saracen Horse Feeds is an independent, family owned business that remains within the Lillico Group and under the command of the fourth generation of the founding family, Patrick Walker. The company takes pride in its traditional family heritage, and stays true to the founding values of trust, integrity, quality, and commitment to exceptional customer service. Saracen continues to combine these values with modern manufacturing capabilities and innovative, research-led formulations to maintain a position at the forefront of modern feed manufacturing.
A History Of Innovation
In 1994, Saracen launched Veteran Mix, the first diet specifically tailored to meet the needs of the older horse. Since then, Saracen have produced Enduro-Performance, used by many of the leading endurance stables in the UK and Middle East and more recently, Shape-Up™ Balancer, a specialist low calorie balancer for good doers, laminitics and those who need to watch their weight.
Saracen offers a range of feeds focused on the different types of horses in varying stages of life and activity, growth and development. Whilst continuing to provide the top quality nutrition you would expect. In fact, when fed correctly, Saracen products can be very cost effective due to their nutrient density.
Working to the highest of standards in quality control, with annual quality audits to determine continued compliance to UFAS (United Feed Assurance Scheme), BETA NOPS Code of Practice and FEMAS (Feed Materials Assurance Scheme), Saracen has an "open declaration" policy, which means that every ingredient used is declared on feed labels, and formulations are fixed to protect the integrity and quality of diets.
